Maxwells aims to assist buyers in getting the lots they have bought during online bidding, especially if they cannot collect the items personally.
However, it is important to note that Maxwells does not offer an automatic pack and post service. The items we cannot help with include are those of a fragile nature - glassware and pictures, purchases containing a large number of pieces such as tea/dinner services or multi lots. Please bear this in mind when bidding. We can recommend a number of places that will be able to help you. The names are at the bottom of this page.
For all the goods that we can send, we will pack them to the best of our ability, but we are not professional packers. Packing and postage is at the buyer's risk, and Maxwells does not take any responsibility for any damage caused in transit. Insurance, if required, is the responsibility of the buyer.
Our charges vary in line with the nature of the goods being sent, the weight and complexity of packing. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery and Parcelforce 48.
For guidance, post and packing a Jiffy bag would be £15. Boxes will start from £20 depending on size, weight, delivery type etc. A quote will be given once you have received an invoice and requested postage. This may take a few days to process, so bear with us, we will get to you.
For those buyers who are able to collect themselves, we operate an appointment system in order that we can have your purchases ready and waiting for you. This helps us and means that you do not have to wait in a lengthy queue. Just give us a call and arrange a convenient time to arrive.
If you are in any doubt as to whether we can ship/post ourselves or need advice on postage/packing, please either call us on 0161 439 5182 or email office@maxwells-auctioneers.co.uk.
