If you have never sold anything by auction before, don’t worry. The auctioneers will give you free advice and sale estimates before you make up your mind. This can either be at the saleroom, by appointment please, for smaller items or, for large items including full house clearances, Maxwells will arrange a home visit, again free of charge.
All lots in the auctions are photographed at least once, many with several images available for those bidding remotely. They are available online with full descriptions for a week before each sale. This offers a worldwide market for all the lots on offer. The auction is then available for live online bidding for all the lots on www.easyliveauction.com and www.the-saleroom.com. Many people do still come along to the view day to have a close look at what is on offer and then do their bidding from the comfort of their own home. Personal bidders are still very welcome and our cafe is now up and running again for the Tuesday.
You will receive an email confirmation statement of your lots for auction about a week or so before the sale which then updates with sold prices afterwards. Payment is sent to you a month after the sale.
Transport and disposal of unsaleable goods can also be arranged if required.
Valuations for auction: Thursday at The Saleroom BY APPOINTMENT ONLY PLEASE. Please call or preferably email us with images if you think that you have items of value to sell - minimum lot consignment should be £50. We can then arrange an appointment for you to call to see either Tom or Max on Thursdays 10am -4pm
Standard Selling Fees = 20% of the hammer price (plus VAT) and a lotting fee of £5 per lot, sold or unsold.
